The 2026 National Agricultural Support Scheme attracted strong interest from farmers across the country, with a total of 42,728 applications submitted. This high level of participation reaffirms the scheme’s key role as a financial instrument supporting agricultural development, encouraging investment, and enhancing the competitiveness of farms.
The Fier region recorded the highest number of applications, followed by Korçë, Elbasan, and Vlorë, regions that continue to play a leading role in the country’s agricultural production.
This year, the National Support Scheme was implemented through 12 support measures, including 9 direct support measures and 3 investment measures, providing financing opportunities across a wide range of agricultural sectors.
The direct support measures include:
1. Basic cattle herd support;
2. Basic sheep and goat herd support;
3. Beekeeping;
4. Sows and gilts;
5. Biological control in greenhouses;
6. Organic farms;
7. Global G.A.P. certification;
8. Support for cultivated agricultural land;
9. Restocking of inland waters.
These measures are designed to help farmers reduce production costs, improve product quality, raise production standards, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
The three investment measures include:
1. Support for young farmers up to 40 years of age;
2. Construction and reconstruction of livestock shelters;
3. Agricultural mechanization.
These investments aim to modernize farms, increase production capacity, improve working conditions, and enhance the overall efficiency of agricultural activities.
Application Assessment Underway.
Following the closure of the application period, the administrative assessment process has commenced and is being carried out in accordance with the criteria, procedures, and deadlines established in the relevant guidelines.
